The e-Visa becomes a reality for visitors to Libya from 21 March 2024. The launch of the electronic visa (e-Visa) for travelling to the Arab country was announced last year and the Government of National Unity has officially introduced the initiative.

"Foreigners can now apply for an e-Visa starting 21 March 2024. I thank the Libyan Holding Company of Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology, the General Passport Office of Immigration and Citizenship, and the General Directorate of Information for launching this electronic service, the first of its kind in Libya," said Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the Government of Libya, Adel Jumaa.

International travellers wishing to visit Libya can now apply for an e-visa.The e-visa project is part of the directives put forward by the Libyan Prime Minister to the Passport Office and the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation to simplify and organise the visa issuance process and digitalise it.

To apply for an e-visa to visit Libya, applicants must provide the following information:

Personal data including first name, last name, gender, nationality and others;
Birth details including date and place of birth;
Residential address and contact details;
Passport details including number, type and country of issue;
