Dubai has introduced a five-year multiple entry visa to encourage tourist arrivals from India. The visa, issued within two to five working days of receipt and acceptance of the application, allows a stay of up to 90 days with a single extension for a similar period, with the total stay not to exceed 180 days in a year.

According to the latest figures from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), 2.46 million visitors from India visited Dubai from January to December 2023, an increase from 1.84 million tourists in 2022. DET said that with this initiative, tourists can now utilize the multiple entry and exit facility, which provides operational flexibility for business and leisure meetings.

Bader Ali Habib, regional head of converging markets at DET, said Dubai values its long-term relationship with India and the country saw many Indian tourists visit in 2023, contributing to the record performance of Dubai's tourism sector.

India will continue to play a key role in achieving D33 goals, further strengthening Dubai's position as a center for business, investment and tourism. The five-year multiple entry visa initiative is a strategic step to deepen our existing ties with India. This will not only open doors for a longer and more enriching experience for Indian tourists, but will also create a platform for greater economic cooperation.

He also notes that it is also a testament to the cooperation between Dubai and India and the endless possibilities that can be explored between the two countries. With its established air services and unwavering focus on the Indian market, the UAE will continue to communicate Dubai's diverse offerings, cosmopolitan environment and abundance of hotels and attractions, continuing to make the UAE the best choice for Indian tourists.
